Outstanding Graduate Student Presentation Award 2018

Congratulations to Brittany Harried, PhD Student, who received the Outstanding Graduate Student Presentation Award at the 2018 Texas Chapter American Fisheries Society (AFS) Annual Meeting.

For her oral platform presentation titled "Mercury body burden and maternal transfer, egg quality and fecundity of Alligator Gar in the lower Trinity River: Are bigger fish always better for recruitment?".

This research is a collaborative project with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Heart of the Hills Fisheries Science Center, the Sutton lab at University of Alaska Fairbanks, and the Hoeinghaus and Roberts labs at UNT.

Ms. Harried's dissertation research will focus on fish functional traits, and whether species traits can predict fish-host relationships with a state-threatened freshwater mussel species, stream food web dynamics, and fish microbiome responses to drought.

We shine the spotlight on Ms. Harried for her hard work and dedication as a recognized UNT Researcher.
